Gerard Gallant has been the new coach of the New York Rangers since June 2o21. Gallant has been a success in his short time with the Rangers. The team he took over had a record of 10–10–1 and was coming off a miserable road trip. In his first 20 games as the Rangers' new coach, he improved their record to 15–9–1. Gallant is from Summerside, Prince Edward Island in Canada. He played for the Summerside Crystals of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MJAHL) from 1981 to 1984.
