The Top Five New York Giants Ever

The New York Giants are a storied NFL franchise that have been around since 1925. As long-time New Yorker and diehard fan Ron Phillips notes, the Giants have won four Super Bowls in large part due to some of the best players in NFL history.

 5. Frank Gifford

Frank Gifford was a Giants player from 1952 to 1964. He was an 8-time Pro Bowler and was named the NFL MVP in 1956. He is also a member of the NFL Hall of Fame. Gifford was a versatile player who played both offense and defense. He was a great running back and receiver and was also an outstanding defensive player.

 4. Michael Strahan

Michael Strahan is another defensive player who had a great career with the Giants. Strahan was a six-time Pro Bowler and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. Strahan set the single-season sack record in 2001 with 22.5 sacks. He was also a member of the Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII, notes Ron Phillips of New York.

 

3. Eli Manning

Eli Manning was the quarterback of the Giants for sixteen seasons and has been one of the best players in franchise history. Manning has no less than two Super Bowl championships and was named the Super Bowl MVP in both games. Manning has also been selected to four Pro Bowls.

 2. Odell Beckham Jr.

 Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the best and most popular wide receivers in the   NFL. Beckham was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three   seasons.  He had a record-setting season in 2014 when he caught 91 passes   for  1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

 1. Lawrence Taylor

 Many football fans, including New York sports fan Ron Phillips, consider   Lawrence Taylor the greatest defensive player in NFL history. Taylor played   for the Giants his entire career and was a 10-time Pro Bowler. Taylor was   named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times and was a member   of  the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXI.
